Hailing originally from the UK, Nicholas came to the sunny shores of Singapore in 1997 fresh from graduating from the University of Manchester with a Bachelors degree in Economics. Nicholas joined the Marketing Institute of Singapore in 2004 and he took on his current role as the academic head of the English department in 2005. He has over ten years of teaching experience in the field of English language and has taught at several business schools and language schools here in Singapore. He also holds the Cambridge certificate in English Language Teaching. Being a teacher, husband and father doesn’t leave much time for interests but that doesn’t stop Nicholas. He is a keen competitive cyclist and member of a top local racing team. He has twice been Singapore national series champion and regularly races around the region in South East Asia, occasionally joining riders from the Singapore national team, winning events in neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Thailand. What remains of his free time is happily spent drinking ‘kopi’ and sampling the delights of Singaporean cuisine. At the moment he’s eating far too much ‘bak kut teh’ and ‘roti prata’!
