Ordinary Membership
Any Singaporean, permanent resident or foreign citizen (whether based in Singapore or elsewhere) with more than 3 years of working or business experience in marketing or any other related business disciplines or has at least a diploma (or equivalent) in marketing or any other related disciplines shall be eligible to be Ordinary members of the Institute.
Affiliate Membership
Affiliate membership shall be opened to any person, who at the time of application, is unable to satisfy the conditions of Ordinary membership. Affiliate membership shall be opened to individuals who, at the time of application, are taking or proposing to take an approved course of study and whose applications are acceptable by the Institute.
Fellowship
The Council shall be empowered to confer Fellowship upon any Ordinary member or applicant who has achieved eminence in the practice of marketing management or who has distinguished himself by contribution to the body of knowledge relating to marketing management.
Nomination for Fellowship shall be made by not less than two members of the Council. Any decision on conferment of Fellowship shall be taken at a meeting of the Council called for the purpose and such conferment shall be made only with the approval of not less than two-thirds of the Council membership.
A Fellow shall be issued with a Fellowship certificate and shall be entitled to use the designation “Fellow of the Marketing Institute of Singapore (FMIS)”
Honorary Fellowship
Honorary Fellowship may be conferred by the Institute on any person who have distinguished himself in the field of marketing or who has contributed distinguished service to Singapore in the field of marketing.
Nomination for Honorary Fellowship shall be made by not less than two members of the Council. Any decision on conferment of Honorary Fellowship shall be taken at a meeting of the Council called for the purpose and such conferment shall be made only with the approval of not less than two-thirds of the Council membership.
A person conferred with Honorary Fellowship shall not be required to pay an entrance fee and annual subscription.
An Honorary Fellow shall be issued with an Honorary Fellowship certificate and shall be entitled to use the designation “Honorary fellow of the Marketing Institute of Singapore (FMIS(HON))”
Corporate Membership
Corporate membership shall be opened to any company or association or body of persons, corporate or unincorporated, that engages in the practice or teaching of marketing or of any allied field or such other entities as the Council may from time to time decide.
A Corporate member shall be entitled to nominate any one person to be its “Principal Representative” and at least one other person to be its “Alternative Representative”, subject to the approval of the Council.
